I have had the pleasure of working with Sarah Oxley on many occasions. In my role as Actor/Director with Jake’s Ladder Theatre Co and later on large scale youth theatre productions at Queen’s College Taunton. Sarah is a highly experienced and talented designer. She is able to respond superbly to a brief, often surpassing expectations in creative design and build. She is a fantastic collaborator being personable, industrious and honest. She and her partner Nick Tiernan are a fantastic team who work seamlessly to design and build large scale sets and props to a deadline. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

I have a long experience of producing/directing pantomimes but it wasn’t until I met Sarah and Nick while directing at the Forum Studio Chester that I realised what a pot of gold I had found with their meticulous approach to design and delivery. They are an extremely approachable and friendly team and their work is outstanding. One of their strengths is their sincerity to the project and their creativity and delivery. All this is before we even consider their commitment to a timeline.

Sarah worked with me on two major projects in which she showed wonderful creative flair and resourcefulness. As production designer on the musical project Vanishing Point she applied incredible ingenuity and imagination on very tight budgets – the whole project was developed, written, produced and presented in an intensive two week window! Small World, a Deaf sitcom over two  very successful series for which Sarah was costume designer, is still very much viewed by the deaf community. 

 

Sarah was a great team member, very professional, resourceful and fun to work with.  I wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again on similar projects. ​
